Faroe Islands: The Destination I Almost Didn't Visit: There are destinations that spend millions convincing people to visit them. The Faroe Islands are not one of them. In fact, if I hadn't stumbled across a photograph of a tiny village sitting beneath towering cliffs somewhere in the North Atlantic , I may never have discovered this remarkable place at all. Nestled between Iceland and Norway , the Faroe Islands remain one of Europe's best-kept secrets . Before my journey, I knew very little about them. After spending a week exploring these remote islands, I found myself wondering why they aren't on every traveler's bucket list. This is not a destination of famous monuments or world-renowned attractions.
